Pro Football Hall of Fame

On Friday, March 7th, Phi Theta Kappa gathered for a fellowship event at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in North Canton. We met at 6pm to eat and talk amongst ourselves before splitting off into groups for a tour around the exhibit. It was fascinating seeing the accomplishments of these individuals and learning about the history of football itself.
Did you know that one of our very own Phi Theta Kappans is displayed in this exhibit?
His name is Willie Lanier.
After attending a 2011 Ohio Regional Convention as a guest speaker, he was so impressed with the dedication Phi Theta Kappans had toward their education that he decided to establish a scholarship for community college students in Ohio.
Named after his late aunt, Dr. Dorothy C. Lanier, the scholarship would present $1,000 each year to select students who write about their relationship with leadership and how it plays a role in overcoming particular challenges.
